How do I register for Classes, Camps or Parent’s Night Out?
You can register online, in person or by phone (250.374.6424).
To register online:
- Select “Register Online” image.
- Sign into your account. If you do not have an account then create a new account.
- If you are a RETURNING Member please DO NOT create another account. Please contact Member Services to set up a login and password.
- Enter the first 3-4 letters of the desired program in the “Search” bar.
- Locate the correct session.
- Click the blue ” More” button on the right.
- Select the desired day and time.
- Select the correct family member.
- Continue to Checkout.
Payment must be made when you register. A payment plan may be arranged for some programs – please contact Member Services for additional information on payment plans.
Online Payment: VISA, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover.
In Person Payment: VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, debit, cash or cheque.
NOTE: New members to KGTC must sign a membership waiver form when you register. This can be done online or in person.
What are the benefits of having an Online Account?
With your online account you can do the following actions:
- Register for a program.
- Update Contact Information.
- View Family Schedule of Events.
- Print Tax Receipts.
- Review Payments and Account Balances.
- Make Payments.
How do I book a birthday party?
Birthday parties must be booked through Member Services (typically 3 months in advance). Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your desired spot.
September to June birthdays are offered on Sundays ONLY.
July and August birthdays are offered on Saturdays ONLY.
Do you have Drop-In times?
KGTC offers adaptive, pre-school and adult drop-in times:
- Adaptive: Wednesday 10:00am to 11:00am.
- Pre-School (14 mos to 4.11 years): Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11:00 am to 12:00pm.
- Adult (18 years and up): Thursday 8:30pm to 10:00pm.
All athletes must have a current year Membership/Insurance Fee prior to entering the gym area.
Can we just come in and jump around?
No, for safety reasons all participants must be registered into a program or attend during drop-in times. All participants must have a current year Membership/Insurance Fee to enter the gym area.
When do I register?
- Registration for fall, winter sessions begins in July and is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Registration for spring sessions begins with member priority registration in November. General registration begins in December.
- Registration for summer programs begins in May.
- Registration for Seasonal Camps (March Break, Summer and Christmas) begins 4-6 weeks prior to the camp.
What is the membership fee?
Membership is effective from September 1 to August 31 each year. All program participants must purchase a KGTC Gymnastics Membership (inclusive of equipment and fundraising levy) as well as the Gymnastics BC and Gymnastics Canada Membership levy. This Membership fee provides insurance for the safety of your child. Membership fees vary between recreational, developmental and competitive divisions.
Where can I find a list of upcoming special events?
What happens if I am waitlisted for a program?
If you are waitlisted for a class, KGTC will contact you as space becomes available. This may occur up to three weeks after the start of a program.
If I withdraw from a class can I get a refund?
Annual Membership/Insurance Fees are NOT refundable.
Recreational Programs: Refunds for prorated program fees may be processed, only during the first three weeks of the program. Withdrawals after the three week mark will receive no refund, unless there is a medical note provided to Member Services stating a valid medical reason for withdrawal.
Developmental and Competitive: Refunds for program withdrawals are permitted for medical reasons with a note from a doctor and 1 months’ written notice must be submitted to Management. An Administrative service charge may be applied. please refer to the policies section of the Parent Handbook and appropriate refund specifics for information regarding fees, refunds and withdrawals.
What if the gym is closed due to an unforeseen event like bad weather?
On rare occasions KGTC has been closed due to extreme weather and other unforeseen events. Generally, KGTC does NOT close for bad weather. If the gym is closed we will make every effort to have a recording on voicemail as well as post on the website and/or Facebook page.
If I miss a class, can I get a credit or attend a make-up lesson?
If you miss a class, KGTC does not provide credits or offer make-up lessons. Your program registration fee pays for a class spot for the entire session regardless of your attendance.
What happens if my class is cancelled?
In the event that KGTC cancels a class, an offer to make-up the lesson at a convenient time may be arranged or a credit to account may be decided.
To whom do I speak about registration and class times?
Please address your questions regarding registration, payment and class times to Member Services during office hours. If Member Services is closed please send an email or leave a voicemail and they will be addressed as soon as possible. Coaches are not readily available or have access to the information needed to answer your questions.
What are your coach qualifications?
All Coaches have completed the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and are assigned classes according to their certification level. They have completed Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED, the Respect in Sport certificate training and have also been successfully evaluated with the Making Ethical Decisions program.
How do I contact my program lead or coach?
Our KGTC team encourages and welcomes your interest in your child’s development and progress in class. If you have concerns your initial contact should be your child’s coach. If the issue is unresolved, please talk to the General Manager who may also arrange a meeting.
To arrange a meeting with your child’s coach please phone Member Services or send an email and Member Services will forward your email for you.
If you have administrative concerns, please speak with Member Services who will direct you to the appropriate person.
How do gymnasts register for / join Advanced or Competitive programs?
Participation in these programs is by assessment or invitation with the exception of the High School program which is open to both beginner and advanced gymnasts. Please contact Member Services for more information on assessments and invitations.
Do I have to stay and watch my child?
No, unless you have been requested to remain or have registered for a program that requires Parent Participation such as “Squiggles”. When you register, please ensure you include your cell phone number so we may contact you in the event of an emergency.
Do you have a Lost and Found?
Yes, all items that are left behind are kept in the Lost and Found Filing Cabinet in the cubby area. Every month, the items are removed from the bin and placed in storage for an additional one month period. After this time, all items will be cleaned and donated to the local thrift store.
How often do you clean your facility?
On a weekly basis the facility is thoroughly cleaned. Our staff also cleans the facility daily. If you encounter any issued or have concerns please notify Member Services.
Do you run programs during the summer?
KGTC is a year-round facility. Class sessions run from September to January and February to June; with seasonal camps and Pro D Day camps offered during school breaks.
What should I wear to the gym?
We want athletes to have fun while they learn in a safe and secure environment.
They should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move easily. Shorts and t-shirts are great – just ensure that clothes are not too baggy as it may become a danger or too tight to be restrictive. Long hair should be tied back and socks and shoes removed. Jewellery or other items that might cause scratching or become caught in materials should be removed. All athletes are barefoot in the gym. Please do not bring valuables to the gym unless you intend to place these in a secure locker at TCC.
Is KGTC a recreational or competitive gym?
KGTC is both a recreational and competitive athletic facility for Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics. Recreation programs offer a variety of progressive curriculum activities suitable for all genders, age groups and abilities that contribute to personal health, fitness and well-being. Developmental, Performance and Competitive programs offer training for athletes working towards provincial, national, international and elite competitions.
Do you give progress certificates?
Most of the recreational programs complete a program certificate at the end of their session with the exception of adaptive, drop-in, cross-training and adult classes. If you have questions about your child’s progress, please talk to their coach or program lead.
What is the minimum age a child can start at KGTC?
KGTC is pleased to offer programs starting at 14 months in our Small & Tall Drop-in program or our Squiggles classes. Please refer to the program schedule or speak to Member Services for class particulars.
Do you have a parent viewing area?
Yes, the parent viewing area is located on the second floor mezzanine with seating. VIEWING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE CUBBY AREA OR ON THE GYM FLOOR.
Are there changing rooms?
Changing rooms are provided within TCC. Athletes in the competitive division may be assigned an athlete locker within KGTC. The cubby area provides storage solutions for shoes, bags and coats. Please do not bring valuables to the gym unless you intend to place these in a secure locker at TCC.
Do you accept funding?
What are the additional fees I am being charged when registering online?
There is a convenience fee charged by our online provider, which is non-refundable. The internet discount offered at the time of online registration offsets this fee.
